      Meet the presenters

      Mara

      First Light & Studio Desk · 5 am–noon

Mara came to radio after years at the college reception desk, where she learned to remember names and ask one useful question. Her grown children still borrow her garden tools. She likes soul records, ordinary conversations and a breakfast that can be eaten standing up. She follows local decisions closely, but has little patience for celebrity gossip or elaborate coffee equipment.

Vegetable gardens · Local history · Soul records

      Jules

Between Classes & Open Workshop · noon–6 pm

Jules works around the campus workshops and learned most repairs from an uncle who kept every usable screw. A bike is transport, not a hobby to buy accessories for. Jules cooks the same three dependable meals, reads instruction manuals and likes a bass line with some movement. Sports results usually pass unnoticed; a clever repair or a public-space argument gets a second look.

Repairing useful things · Everyday cycling · Rhythm and bass

      Ada

After Class & Projection Room · 6–11 pm

Ada helps at the college library and took the long route back to studying after several years working in a cinema. She keeps a book in her bag, occasionally finishes it, and shares film recommendations with her younger brother. She follows arts and education stories without treating every release as an event. Competitive sport is mostly background noise; an honest conversation holds her attention.

Library books · Films beyond opening weekend · Evening walks

      Nico

      Last Lamp · 11 pm–5 am

Nico learned sound work in small venues and spent enough years on night shifts to stop calling them unusual. Home is quiet; days off are often laundry, a walk and a long record. There is no secret collection or grand side project. Nico follows the weather and a few science stories, leaves most online arguments alone, and never assumes everyone listening is trying to sleep.

Long records · Sound and listening · A quiet walk

      Eli

Relief presenter · A different desk about every other day

Eli helps with room bookings and campus deliveries, and is usually the person who remembers where a spare cable ended up. He likes old radio documentaries, noticing the lettering on shop windows, and cooking enough for tomorrow's lunch. Sports scores seldom hold his attention, and he rarely finishes a recommended-albums list. Covering another presenter's desk suits him: follow the notes, ask when unsure, and keep the listener company.

Radio documentaries · Ordinary streets and shop signs · Cooking for tomorrow

Red Pines and its presenters are fictional. Regional weather and news links are real; source times and publication dates are shown.

      The daily clock

      24 hours, seven programmes.

      • First Light

Mara · Longer morning conversations, campus characters, coffee, and records while Red Pines wakes.

      • Studio Desk

Mara · Stories from classrooms and workshops, with paint on the timetable and pine needles by the door.

      • Between Classes

Jules · Dry humour, small college adventures, and records for the walk between buildings.

      • Open Workshop

Jules · Questionable contraptions, good questions, and the emotional lives of folding chairs. Unfinished ideas welcome.

      • After Class

Ada · Slower reflections, reading lamps, and songs for the long way past the lake.

      • Projection Room

Ada · Mismatched chairs, a blank screen, and songs that might suggest a scene.

      • Last Lamp

Nico · Nico’s longer late-night reflections: a quiet reading room, a view of the lake, and company in the dark.

      The Missing Timeline

Every midnight, six complete songs open a window into a connected fictional music history, one from each featured album. Nico usually introduces the records; Eli takes the mic when he covers the night shift. Songs from all six albums also appear throughout the regular shows.

      Explore the six albums

      Pine Crossing notebook

A different minute of imagined college and local news for each weekday, after 6 pm. Field Notes takes the longer way home on Thursdays after 5 pm.

      Maintenance Required

The complete 20:51 video-story audio, every other evening after 9 pm. Begins between songs.

      Red Pines campus bulletin

Jules and Ada bring 90 seconds of campus life on Fridays after 7 pm: library quiet hours, the observatory, and an extension cord gone astray.

      At the studio door

Nico hands the early shift to Mara, Mara passes the afternoon to Jules, Jules leaves the evening with Ada, and Ada sends Nico into the night. Around 5 am, noon, 6 pm and 11 pm, the desk changes hands after the record finishes. Eli brings his own gentle handover when he covers a shift. Longer campus stories, unexpected small adventures and quieter overnight thoughts keep the conversation moving.

Our town line brings callers from campus and the night shift, coffee-counter reports, a visit to Second Shift Repair and the evening window at Lake Street Laundry. Occasionally the studio desk has a small adventure of its own. Album introductions and after-song notes name the records we are playing, with an occasional tale from our imagined record room.

From first light to last lamp

Brighter records carry the morning and afternoon. After class, the mix opens out; after 9 pm, darker records pick up the pace. From 11 pm, slower, darker songs leave more space around the night. There is always room for a record that takes another direction.

Occasionally, a small poem or a thoughtful image slips between records: a little colour by day, a quieter verse after dark. Each piece has plenty of space before it returns.

      The weekly noticeboard

Ada brings a different minute from the college and Pine Crossing each evening after 6 pm. The week repeats; the stories stay in our fictional town.

      Red Pines Community College

Established in 1968, our imagined community college sits between a small town and a very large wood. The Night Owls call it home. WRPC, the fictional call letters of AlgoRythm, keeps the reading lamps company.

      Voices on the clock

Mara gives mornings more room, Jules finds workshop jokes, Ada winds down after class, and Nico keeps the night reflective. Eli borrows a different desk about every other day, with a notebook and stories of his own. This campus, its presenters and the town are part of the station’s fictional world.

      Permission to broadcast

Incoprea gives you free, non-exclusive permission to broadcast or stream its original AlgoRythm audio programme, continuously or in programme blocks, live or delayed. You may make the copies needed to relay or schedule those broadcasts. This permission covers the recordings, underlying music and words, and spoken programme material that Incoprea owns or controls.

      A simple browser relay

      1. Open this page in a dedicated browser window on your studio computer. Press Start station for relay below, or Listen on the player. You join the programme at its current position.
      2. Set the player volume to 100%, then set final levels in your mixer or encoder. Route the browser’s audio into your existing broadcast setup.
      3. Keep the computer awake and the browser open and unmuted. Isolate other tabs, notification sounds and microphones; check the outgoing audio and keep your own fallback ready.
      4. Add your own station IDs and required announcements. For delayed programme blocks, record the programme audio with your studio tools and schedule that recording.

Source format: this is scheduled browser playback. The page address is not a continuous MP3, Icecast or SHOUTcast feed URL. Capture the browser’s audio and send it through your own station’s transmission or streaming service. Audio capture does not carry track metadata; use “AlgoRythm · Incoprea Radio” unless you maintain your own song information.
