# Mourier — native formats and limitations

Maze-like modular lettering for posters, music artwork and experimental wordmarks.

Highly abstract forms; use as graphic lettering, not body text, interface labels or numeric readouts.

Limited symbol coverage: no percent (%), less-than (<), greater-than (>), backslash (\) or caret (^).

Exact absent printable-ASCII codepoints: U+0025, U+003C, U+003E, U+005C, U+005E. Plus (U+002B) is present. Exact encoded coverage: coverage/Mourier.tsv (376 codepoints). The 430 glyphs include unencoded forms; these do not increase coverage or family counts. U+0301, U+0308 and U+0327 are not separately encoded. Limited composition tests do not certify arbitrary decomposed text or languages.

One family, one Regular 400 style, Version 2.000; original OTF and WOFF2 only. No conversion, subset, outline edits, repair, synthetic variant or font installation. Native fsType 8 is preserved; the included original OFL supplies the license terms. Native spacing is unmodified. GSUB features aalt, locl, salt and ss01–ss05 are retained; there is no GPOS table. The preview uses default forms, not a certification of all alternates. Unsupported characters may fall back to another font.

Both native formats encode the same 376 codepoints and contain 430 glyphs with matching decomposed outlines and horizontal metrics. Their original raw CFF bytes are not identical: the 229-string dictionaries have different orders. Decoded/reserialized CFF agrees in the independent source review. The head timestamps/checksum adjustment differ, and only the OTF contains DSIG; no signature validation is claimed. Both original files are distributed unchanged.

## Source-date discrepancy

Upstream README/FONTLOG describe a 1971 original alphabet and a 2002 digital revival, with publication in 2011; the embedded copyright/name record instead refers to 1973 and digitization in November 2011. These source statements are preserved without reconciling or correcting their dates. No single unqualified historical date is asserted here.

All five upstream documents are preserved verbatim. The upstream README refers to specimen images in the original repository; those images are not included in this native-font package. This is a curated binary distribution, not a full source checkout or reproducible build. No OTS sanitizer, DSIG validity, broad application, general-language or ordinary-readability certification is claimed.
