# Incoprea Tideglass — production guide

Family: Incoprea Tideglass. Style: Regular. Weight: 400. Version: 1.000.
Original cased display serif. Copyright (c) 2026 Incoprea.

## Use

Use the TTF for desktop layout and the WOFF2 for web embedding. Start at 36px
or larger; test on the actual display/print medium. The 24px proof is a
diagnostic, not a body-text recommendation. Digits are proportional. This
package contains one upright Regular; do not synthesize bold/italic styles
or describe it as a multistyle family.

```css
@font-face {
  font-family: "Incoprea Tideglass";
  src: url("IncopreaTideglass-Regular.woff2") format("woff2");
  font-style: normal;
  font-weight: 400;
  font-display: swap;
}
.display-title {
  font-family: "Incoprea Tideglass", serif;
  font-size: clamp(36px, 6vw, 96px);
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-synthesis: none;
  font-kerning: normal;
  letter-spacing: 0;
  line-height: 1.35;
}
```

Allow enough line height for accents and descenders. Avoid clipping text with
tight fixed-height containers. Check each actual phrase; optical tightening
should not silently create collisions. Use NFC-normalized text where possible.
HarfBuzz recomposes the supported accents from their decomposed equivalents,
but the font supplies no arbitrary combining-mark positioning. Unsupported
characters can fall back to another font; consult coverage.json before making
language-support claims. Full Latin-1 is not supplied.

## Inspect

specimen.png is the overview image; specimen.html is the live WOFF2 specimen.
native-size-proof.png contains actual 24/36/48/72px raster sizes, not enlarged
small text. View PNGs at 100% for size judgments. alphabet-proof.png checks
word rhythm, spacing-proof.png compares kerning on/off, and the numeric,
confusable and accent proofs target difficult shapes. qa/glyphs-01.png through
qa/glyphs-05.png show every encoded character. All PNGs are rendered font QA,
not source artwork. outline-svg holds editable native vector drawings.

## Rebuild

Use Python 3.11 or newer and the pinned requirements. The tested environment
has Pillow RAQM support. No system font installation, font download, artwork
generation or source-font import is required.

From this package directory:

```sh
python3 -m venv .venv
.venv/bin/python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 .venv/bin/python build_incoprea_tideglass_hooke.py
```

The builder defaults to its own directory, independent of the working
directory. To keep the original package unchanged, pass `--output rebuilt`.
It copies the five static license/documentation/requirements files from beside
the script when absent, then regenerates fonts, coverage, proofs, SVG sources,
validation and manifest. `--draft` skips packaging but still compiles, renders
and validates. The full package build fails if any required public input is
missing. Keep all public files together when moving this package.

With the pinned toolchain and fixed timestamp, repeated builds should produce
byte-identical TTF/WOFF2. Pixel rendering can differ across FreeType/RAQM
versions, so a different operating-system/toolchain rebuild must regenerate
and review its own proofs and manifest. Never claim the previous hashes for
modified output.

## Integration and integrity

manifest.json is the public allowlist. Its integration object identifies the
TTF, WOFF2, specimen PNG, browser HTML, exact coverage list, source and proof
paths. Each listed file has byte size and SHA-256. Copy exactly the listed
files plus manifest.json, preserving relative directories; do not recursively
copy a working directory or include environments, prototypes, comparison
sources, private provenance, approval notes or unlisted drafts.

The manifest itself cannot contain its own stable hash. Record its SHA-256
externally when binding an approval or release. Verify all listed hashes
before and after packaging/upload. Changing any listed artifact requires a
new manifest and a new manifest hash. validation.json binds its checks to the
two exact binary hashes; it is not a substitute for visual inspection.
