A valve that makes its own rhythm

Explore a simple feedback rule inspired by the beetle story. This is an illustrative threshold oscillator, not a chemical or anatomical simulation of a beetle.

All values and times are dimensionless. The two rates are invented model controls.Pressure through ten arbitrary time unitsPressure rises while the inlet is open. It falls after the inlet closes. The pattern repeats.010arbitrary time10

StateRule
Inlet openPressure rises at the selected rise rate. Reaching1 closes the inlet.
Inlet closedPressure falls at the selected release rate. Reaching0.25 opens it again.

The model uses linear rises and falls with two thresholds. It omits fluid flow, heat, vapor formation, elastic geometry, and active behavior. Its purpose is to show how local feedback can produce repeated pulses without a separate command for every cycle.
